I have a TON of respect for artists that can render realistically - but if I’m being honest, I don’t think they are as interesting (most of the time) - obviously Dali can realllly render
One of our favorite things about art over here at IF is how subjective it is! Realism takes incredible skill, no doubt, but we’re just as drawn to the bold, weird, and rule-breaking stuff that makes you feel something or stop and stare a little longer. Dali's the perfect example—his technique is mind-blowing, but it’s the surreal twists that really hook us.
Yeah! I honestly feel guilty walking around Museums with Renaissance art. Some will grab more than others - but most - I can't really spend much time with - Just not that stimulating. But to re-iterate - as you mentioned - super subjective. :)
