What are the different subscription types?
Free Subscription: You can read a few posts that announce and celebrate winners, but you won’t have access to exclusive content or be eligible to enter for funding.
Monthly Subscription: You gain access to ALL posts and are eligible to apply for funding if you choose to enter.
Annual Subscription: Works the same as the monthly subscription but covers 12 months of access and entry in one payment.
Founder Subscription: In addition to everything in the Monthly and Annual plans, becoming a Founder simply allows you to give more to support artists and fund more creative work.
How do I apply for funding?
To apply, you must be a paid subscriber (monthly, annual, or founder). Fill out our application form (provided in our paid subscriber welcome email!) with details about you and your project. Winners are chosen based on need, impact, and alignment with the fund’s mission.
Do I need to enter the application form every month?
No, you only need to apply once. However, you must remain subscribed to be eligible. If we select you as a winner and find that you are no longer subscribed at the time of selection, you will not receive funding.
How are creators selected for funding?
Our team carefully reviews all applications, prioritizing impact, need, and creative vision. All applicants are considered fairly.
How much are the grants for?
Grant amounts vary each month based on the total subscription revenue and the needs of applicants. After covering essential business operations, we allocate as much funding as possible through a tiered granting system to support a diverse range of creative projects.
Smaller grants (starting at $500) are designed to give creators a boost, whether to fund a crucial step in their project or cover essential costs.
Larger grants (up to $10,000) are awarded to projects requiring more substantial funding.
Multiple grants may be awarded each month, ensuring that more creators receive support.
Our goal is to fund as many creators as possible while maximizing impact. Some projects may require less funding to make meaningful progress, while others may need more. We carefully consider each application to ensure the best possible distribution of funds and celebrate every recipient’s creative journey.
How can I support the fund if I don’t want to apply?
You can subscribe as a donor and choose not to enter the funding pool. Your subscription helps keep the fund alive and supports independent creators.
What happens if I am selected?
If selected, you’ll receive your portion of the fund within 15 business days after the announcement. You’ll also be featured in our publication and will be asked to participate in a follow-up interview 3-12 months after receiving the funds.
Can I be selected more than once?
Yes! Creators can reapply for more funding, though preference will be given to first-time applicants depending on funding availability.
